Available for current touring
This show is suitable for any age-group and was for many years a staple of the Ohio Historical Society’s Christmas weekends at the Victorian Village in Columbus, OH..
England’s greatest novelist, Dickens, loved to have fun, which in his day meant games in the parlor, recitations, songs, ghost stories and – his own specialty – conjuring, often with the accompaniment of food, drink and a blazing fire. He was, in our terms, an inveterate party animal.
Roger, in this half hour program, is Dickens:
*performing, with audience participation, the song “Shiverandshakery” in which a young member of the crowd appears to freeze to death!
*doing magic tricks as the prestidigitator RhiaRhamaRhoos;
*demonstrating the British Christmas custom of wearing a paper hat at the table for Xmas dinner;
*sending shivers up the spine with a Victorian ghost story, eg.”Captain Murderer”.
The presentation is perfect for schools, office parties, residential homes, etc. and has been successfully presented all over OH, WV, and contiguous states.
